Mauritania: Former President Aziz accused of trying to hand over an island to a Qatari prince

Nouakchott, Mauritania, July 13 (Infosplusgabon) - A Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry (CEP), charged with carrying out investigations into his governance for 11 years, including the awarding of dozens of contracts, has accused former Mauritanian President, Mohamed ould Abdel Aziz (2008/2019), of having proposed the transfer of an island in the national territory (located 100 km north of Nouakchott) to a prince of Qatar,  Infosplusgabon learned from parliamentary sources on Monday.

UN and Libyan Interior Ministry agree to resume security reform programme

Tripoli, Libya, July 13 (Infosplusgabon) - The Acting Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General in Libya, Stephanie Williams, and the Minister of Interior of the Government of National Accord (GNA), Fathi Bachagha, are to resume their activities in the security sector reform (SSR) and demobilization, reintegration and disarmament (DRD) support programmes and projects, a statement issued Sunday evening by the United Nations Mission of Support in Libya (UNSMIL) has indicated.

Coronavirus: China to help Congo fly in medical equipment

Brazzaville, Congo, July 13 (Infosplusgabon) - China's ambassador to Congo, Ma Fulin, confirmed on Sunday in Brazzaville that Congo has indeed placed a "large order" of medical and protection equipment against COVID-19 from China, indicating that the African country is finding it difficult to have the orders delivered to Brazzaville because of the lack of planes to move them, the public radio announced on Monday.
