LIBREVILLE, December 27 (Infosplusgabon) -  Libya’s earnings dropped by 40% because of the stoppage of oil exports, particularly in the oil zone of “Hilal” in the East of the country, the Libyan Prime Minister, Ali Zeidan, disclosed this in his weekly press briefing on Wednesday.

He said the drop was the main reason for the delay in the preparations of the national budget.   He said that his government would restart the exportation of oil shortly and called on tribes to begin talks with armed men who block the oil sites, preventing export.

"I have sent delegations, including tribes, to negotiate in a bid to resolve the problem," he said.

Armed gangs blocked the main oil ports in the East of the country since July, causing a drop in production, from 1.5 million barrels per day to 250,000 barrels per day. (PANA).
