LIBREVILLE, 18 novembre (Infosplusgabon) -  Scottish Development International (SDI), the international economic development arm of Government in Scotland, will lead a group of seven Scottish supply chain companies involved in the oil and gas sector for a one-week visit to Ghana from 18 Nov.

A statement issued by the British High Commission in Accra on Saturday said in the last three years, 32 Scottish oil and gas companies had visited Ghana with several of them, including Weir Minerals, MSIS, Intervention Rentals, Dominion, Craig Group, Enermech and Global Energy, already established in the local sector.

Ghana is an emerging oil producing country with several companies involved in exploration and production of oil and gases offshore the west of the country.

The statement said companies participating in the 18-24 November mission had travelled to Ghana on an exploratory mission to examine the opportunities presented by the Ghanaian market.

"They will be promoting their expertise across a wide range of products and services, including calibration services, flow measurement solutions, sub-sea acoustics and positioning, rig cooling and training services to support the oil & gas industry."

The statement said the companies come with a range of objectives including looking for local representatives, qualified distributors or agents, partners and clients.

Scottish Development International provides a broad range of support to companies and institutions to help them develop their overseas business. Support includes international business development and inward investment enquiries.
