Khartoum, Sudan, Decembre 25 (Infosplusgabon) - President Reccep Tayyib Erdogan of Turkey arrived in Khartoum Sunday on a three-day state visit to the Sudan, the first ever by a Turkish president.

Infosplusgabon reports that the visit will feature talks between Erdogan and his Sudanese counterpart, Omar Bashir, on bilateral relations and issues of mutual interest.

Bashir and senior government officials were at the Khartoum Airport to receive President Erdogan and the large delegation of ministers and businessmen accompanying him.

Members of diplomatic corps accredited to the Sudan were also at the airport to greet President Erdogan.

The official Sudan news agency, SUNA, reported that a huge crowd of Sudanese civilians carrying welcome placards and good wishes, and waving Sudanese and Turkish flags, dotted the roads from the airport.
