Tunisia, EU sign Open Sky agreement in Tunis

Tunis, Tunisia, December 11 (Infosplusgabon) - Tunisia and the European Union on Monday signed the Open Sky agreement at a ceremony in Tunis which will involve all Tunisian airports, except Tunis-Carthage.

The agreement, which comes into effect next month, will open the Tunisian air space to different types of European planes, in a first stage, before the progressive opening to other international airports.

The Tunisian authorities underlined the advantages of the agreement, particularly for tourism, passengers and companies.

However, several experts have expressed concerns saying it would have a negative impact on Tunisian airlines whch would not be able to compete with the European airlines.
