2018 FIFA U-17 WWC qualifiers: Djibouti, Morocco reach final qualifiers without kicking the ball

Cairo, Egypt, December 4 (Infosplusgabon) - Soccer Minnows Djibouti and giants Morocco reached the final qualifiers for the 2018 FIFA Under-17 Women's World Cup, scheduled to take place in Uruguay, without kicking the ball, just as Ghana, South Africa and Cameroon made giants leaps with huge wins away from home.

 

In the first-round matches scheduled at the weekend, Djibouti, whose current FIFA ranking in 183, walked over Tunisia while Morocco, ranked 44 in the world, walked over Equatorial Guinea.

 

The duo await qualifiers from the first round matches to be concluded at the weekend of 15, 16, 17 December.

 

In the first leg of that round, also decided at the weekend, Ghana defeated hosts Gambia 5-1, South Africa beat hosts Botswana 5-2, Cameroon overwhelmed Algeria 4-0 in Algiers while Nigeria drew 1-1 away to Ethiopia.

 

According to the fixtures in the final eliminator (first leg 2-4 February and second leg 16-18 February), Djibouti will meet the winner of Ghana and Gambia, Morocco will take on the winner of South Africa and Botswana while the winner of Nigeria-Ethiopia take on the winner of Cameroon and Algeria.

 

The three teams which will emerge at the end of the two-leg eliminator, will represent Africa in Uruguay from 13 November  to 1 December, 2018.

 

North Korea are the defending champions.
