President Mnangagwa reshuffles cabinet

Harare, Zimbabwe, December 3 (Infosplusgabon) - Zimbabwe's President Emmerson Mnangagwa has reshuffled his cabinet "to ensure compliance with the constitution and considerations on gender, demography and special needs".

 

The Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation (ZBC) on Saturday quoted a statement by the Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet, Dr Misheck Sibanda, as saying Petronella Kagonye has now been appointed Minister of Labour and Social Welfare, while Professor Paul Mavima becomes the new Minister of Primary and Secondary Education, replacing Dr Lazarus Dokora.

 

The cabinet was announced on 30 November.

 

The statement said Ambassador Christopher Mutsvangwa has been appointed Special Adviser to the President, Professor Clever Nyathi as Special Adviser in the Office of the President on National Peace and Reconciliation, which is expected to be headed by a Vice President to be appointed after the congress of the ruling ZANU-PF this month.

 

It said Joshua Malinga is now the Special Adviser in the Office of the President on Disability Issues.

 

The new cabinet ministers will be sworn in on Monday.
