Khartoum, Sudan, November 21 (Infosplusgabon) -  Sudanese President Omar Bashir leaves Khartoum on Wednesday  for Russia where he is due to meet President Vladimir Putin and other officials for talks on economic, political and investment relations.

The Sudanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs said Bashir’s visit, the first to Russia shortly after the revocation of economic sanctions against Sudan last month, will start with talks between Bashir and President Putin on Thursday in Sochi city.

The ministry pointed out that the talks will include ways to bolster the bilateral relations and cooperation between Sudan and Russia in political, economic and military fields as well as the current regional and international developments.

In a statement, the ministry said that President Bashir will meet in Moscow on 24 November with Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev to discuss ways of consolidating the bilateral relations, especially in the economic, peaceful use of nuclear power, increasing the commercial exchange balance and encouraging investment.

They will particularly centre on opening the Russian market for Sudanese agricultural products and attraction of Russian companies to operate in Sudan's fields of mining, transport, power and infrastructure.
