Harare, Zimbabwe, November 19  (Infosplusgabon) - Zimbabwe's ruling ZANU PF party has sacked Robert Mugabe as its leader, while the party’s Youth League called for the immediate reinstatement of Emmerson Mnangagwa as the country’s Vice President and Second Secretary of the revolutionary party.

Mnangagwa was fired from the government by Mr Mugabe two weeks ago.

According to reports from the headquarters of ZANU PF in Harare, where the ZANU PF Central Committee held a special session on Sunday, First Lady, Grace Mugabe, has been expelled from the party.

Reports said the party has given Mr Mugabe, 93, until early Monday to step down as president. If Mugabe, who has been under house arrest since last Wednesday, ignores the decision, he could face impeachment. He has been president of Zimbabwe for 37 years.

Meanwhile, the Youth League Executive meeting at the ZANU PF headquarters demonstrated in solidarity with the Zimbabwe Defence Forces (ZDF)’s intervention to weed out criminals around President Mugabe and made a number of recommendations, Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation (ZBC) Radio reported.

The meeting also recommended the expulsion of six members of the Youth League. They are: Kudzai Chipanda, Innocent Hamandishe, Tongai Kasukuwere, Xavier Kazizi, Mpehlabayo  Malinga and Anastancia Ndlovu.

In a solidarity message with ZDF, the spokesman for the youth national executive, Yeukai Simbanegavi called for the immediate reinstatement of Mnangagwa as the Vice President and Seond Secretary of ZANU PF as well as in government.

The youth also recommended that all expulsions which were done in the Youth League from 2014 onwards be declared null and void.

They also called for stringent disciplinary measures for all alleged criminals who include Saviour Kasukuwere, Prof. Jonathan Moyo, Patrick Zhuwao, Dr. Ingatious Chombo, Mandiitawepi Chimene and Letina Udenge.
