Lubumbashi, DRC, November 18 (Infosplusgabon) -  The first leg of the 2017 CAF Confederation Cup final comes off on Sunday at Lubumbashi, DR Congo, between SuperSport United of South Africa and DR Congo giants TP Mazembe.

While SuperSport United are playing their maiden final of the CAF Confederation Cup, Africa's second-tier club competition, the DR Congo club, who have dominated the domestic league in their country, have won many CAF competitions.

TP Mazembe have won the CAF Champions League, the top-tier African clubs competition, three times since the new format was introduced in 2009, CAF Cup once as well as the Super Cup. They have also participated in the FIFA Club World Cup.

But the South African side will be no pushovers having drawn against the DR Congo side in both matches at the group stage.

It is all poised for a thrilling encounter, as both sides have many key players from various national teams on the continent that play good football.

SuperSport United’s assistant coach Kaitano Tembo is quoted as saying the matches they played against TP Mazembe provided both teams with a better understanding of each playing philosophy.

However, he expects a different approach on Sunday in Lubumbashi.

“The two teams know each other and there is that mutual respect among the two clubs and I think it’s going to be a very entertaining game, It’s not going to be the same as the last time we met and without giving much away about our approach I think we will also try and correct our mistakes from the two legs that we played against them,” Tembo said.
