Brussels, Belgium, November 15  (Infosplusgabon) - African countries and the European Union will hold a high-level conference in Brussels on 22 November to discuss new measures to tackle Africa's challenges and different ways to intensify the partnership between the two continents.

An official communique in Brussels on Wednesday said Guinean President Alpha Condé, in his capacity as incumbent African Union (AU) chairman, and his Central African Republic counterpart, Faustin-Archange Touadéra, will attend the conference.

The theme of the conference is: "Towards a renewed partnership."

It will be held at the European Parliament, in the presence of several African and European personalities, ahead of the EU-AU summit scheduled for 30 November in the Ivorian city of Abidjan.

The president of the European Parliament, Antonio Tajani, who will preside over the conference, said it would be about equal partnership between the two continents centred around the peoples, youths and job creation.

"We must look at Africa with African eyes, our cooperation should not only be political and institutional, but should also fully involve economic actors and civil society activists," said Tajani.
