Two killed in bus accident in northern Rwanda

Kigali, Rwanda, November 13  (Infosplusgabon) -  At least two passengers were killed and 17 others were injured in a road accident late on Sunday night night, involving a bus travelling from Musanze, a district in the northern Rwanda, to Kigali city, a police source said on Monday in Kigali.

According to the police, the bus was carrying nearly 40 passengers.

Police are yet to ascertain the cause of the accident.

On many occasions, the Rwandan authorities have launched campaigns to increase awareness on the basic road safety rules and hazards of speeding and overtaking.

As part of efforts to prevent accidents largely caused by speeding, Rwandan police have ordered installation of speed governors in all public transport vehicles which limit drivers to a maximum speed of 60 km per hour.
