Abuja, Nigeria, November 12 (Infosplusgabon) - The Nigerian Army on Sunday said three of its soldiers died while “many” Boko Haram terrorists were killed during the Army’s “clearance” operations in the fringes of the Sambisa forest in the northeast of the country.

The Army also said that a total of six soldiers and a civilian vigilante sustained injuries during the operations which were declared "successful".

According to the Spokesman of 7 Division of the Army, Colonel Kingsley Samuel, the Army and Air Force had within the past one week embarked on "clearance operations" to dislodge Boko Haram terrorists from their camps. The troops successfully cleared the terrorists’ hideouts at Talala, Ajigin, Mangzum, Abagajiri, Kafa, Dusula, Buk, Malumti and Abulam.

“In furtherance of the clearance operations, the troops on Friday, 10th November 2017, while acting on credible information that the terrorists were massing up at certain camps in fringes of Sambisa forest, advanced and cleared them at Shyadawe-Angwan-Fulani, Shyadawe-Angwan-Bula-Musa and Shyadawe."

The Spokesman said 3 soldiers died in the operation, while 6 soldiers and a civilian JTF sustained injuries.
