Nairobi, Kenya, November  9 (Infosplusgabon) - Kenyan authorities have called for an investigation after a man posing as a "state agent" appeared as a witness of two tragic accidents, including Tuesday's tragic accident where the Governor of Nyeri County was killed.

Wahome Gakuru, the Nyeri County Governor, was killed in a tragic road crash while driving to the capital, Nairobi, where he was due to make a television appearance to discuss the development plan for the county government.

Police Inspector General Joseph Boinnet said on Wednesday he had no specific information on the identity of a man calling himself Dennis Muigai, who appeared on one of the national television stations, claiming he witnessed the tragic car crash.

The Police Inspector General said he could not confirm whether the man was a serving Police officer.

Social media users immediately recognised him as the same man who appeared on NTV, a private television station from Nakuru, Central Kenya, as a witness at the scene of a helicopter crash late October.

In Nakuru, the witness identified himself as a "State Pilot." He said had witnessed the tragic helicopter crash on Lake Nakuru. The helicopter had five people on board when it took off including the pilot.

The other passengers on board were bloggers traveling on the campaign trail for members of the ruling Jubilee Alliance Party.

The efforts to locate the bodies of the other three passengers on board the helicopter have not bourne fruit but divers are still at the scene.

Muigai said he was a friend of one of the passengers on board. The man appeared at the scene of the Lake Nakuru helicopter crash walking on clutches.

On Wednesday, the local media reported, Ndegwa Muhoro, Director-General, Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) issued an alert for the mysterious witness, to record a statement at any police station.

The Police Inspector General said an investigation would be carried out to establish whether the man had any relationship with the police.

In an interview broadcast on Citizen television, the witness said it was a lone motorcyclist who caused the driver of the car carrying Governor Gakuru to swarve in order to avoid hitting the motorbike.

The witness said he drove behind the Governor's car before the accident and later mobilised security personnel to secure the guns and other weapons and personal property of the Governor and his entourage at the scene of the accident.

The man's appearance at two tragic accidents, was cause for speculation amongst social media users, pointing out the potential for a hitman.
