Freetown, Sierra Leone, November 6 (Infosplusgabon) - The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) in Sierra Leone announced on Monday that it will launch an investigation into how US$2 million Ebola money was used by the Sierra Leone Red Cross.
“We are going to look into this keenly and get some explanation of how this money might have been used,” Sholay Davies, Deputy Commissioner of the ACC, told Infosplusgabon.
The International Committee of Red Cross (ICRC) launched a report over the weekend in which it said US$2 million could be at risk of misappropriation during the Ebola outbreak in Sierra Leone.
The monetary evaluation was done on all Red Cross chapters across the world.
The Red Cross chapter in Sierra Leone has not responded to the ACC's decision to carry out the investigation.
