Nigerian military says it has 'killed a large number' of Boko Haram terrorists

Abuja, Nigeria, November 5 (Infosplusgabon) - The Nigerian Army on Sunday said its troops fighting the Boko Haram terrorists in northeast Nigeria "killed a large number" of them while some escaped with gunshot wounds.

 

The troops also rescued a 6-year-old boy and recovered several items from the terrorists. The rescued boy is receiving further treatment at an Army medical facility.

 

Meanwhile, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) also said that its fighter jets destroyed a building where some Boko Haram terrorists were holding a meeting at Talala, located in Sambisa Forest.

 

Nigerian Army Spokesman, Brigadier General Sani Kukasheka Usman, said in a statement that in the first encounter, Nigerian sldiers ambushed some terrorists early last Friday along Banki-Bula Yobe road in Bama Local Government Area of Borno State.

 

In another mission, General Usman stated that soldiers also ambushed some unsuspecting Boko Haram terrorists who were attempting to cross into the Sambisa Forest at about 7:40pm (1840 GMT) on same day.
