Brazzaville, Congo, November 3 (Infosplusgabon) -  The German ambassador in Congo, Klaus Peto Schick, said on Thursday that his country is willing to back scientific research in Congo.

He was speaking in Brazzaville at the end of talks with the Congolese minister of Scientific Research and Technology Innovation, Parfait Aimé Coussoud Mavoungou.

According to the German diplomat, he and the minister discussed the possibilities of joint scientific research, saying Mavoungou should find ways and means for Congo and Germany to work together in that domain.

Schick said Germany would help Congo to revamp its cartography sector by backing the Congolese Centre for Geographical Research and Cartographic Production (CERGEC).

The German diplomat also said that the two countries had already established a certain collaboration on scientific research in diseases like TB, HIV/AIDS and tropical diseases.
