Kenya, Ghana lock horns in U-20 World Cup qualifier

Nairobi, Kenya, November  2 (Infosplusgabon) - Kenya's national women under-20 team coach, Caroline Ajowi, has named her squad ahead of their 2018 Under-20 Women World Cup Qualifier against Ghana at the Cape Coast Stadium Sunday, November 5.

 

The team jets out to Accra on Friday morning and is due back  back on Tuesday morning.

 

The team comprises Corazone Aquino, Judith Osimbo, Wincate Kaari, Brenda Achieng, Diana Wacera and Fiscah Nashivanda.

 

Other players are Lilian Awuor, Lucy Akoth, Rachel Muema, Quinter Atieno, Lilian Mmboga, Veronica Awino, Gentrix Shikangwa, Linda Nasimiyu, Leah Cherotich, Martha Amunyolete, Stella Anyango.

 

On the technical bench are Musa Otieno (technical lead), Caroline Ajowi (coach), Ann Aluoch (ass coach), Jackline Akoth (asst coach), Sunil Shah (goalkeeper trainer) Mikael Igendia (strength and conditioning coach), and team doctor David Ndakalu.

 

Out of the 19 African teams battling it out  in the qualifiers, only two will represent the continent at the  FIFA Women U-20 World Cup, set for August 5-24 in France.

 

In all, 16 teams will battle it out in the event that is held after every two years.

 

The two will be known in January 2018
