CAF Champions League: List of previous winners

Cairo, Egypt, November 2 (Infosplusgabon) - The following is the list of previous winners of the CAF Champions League, according to the CAF website.

 

 

The list shows that North African clubs have been most successful in the tournament's history since 1965, with Egyptian clubs lifting the trophy 13 times. Algerian clubs have won the trophy 5 times, while Moroccan and Tunisian clubs have won it four times each.

 

Other clubs that have won the trophy have come from DR Congo (6 times), Cameroon (5 times) Ghana and Guinea 3 times each), Cote D'Ivoire, South Africa and Nigeria (2 times each), and Congo once.

 

The most celebrated club are Ahly, which are making their 11th appearance at the final, winning 8 times and tasting defeat twice (1983 and 2007). TP Mazembe of DR Congo have won it five times.
