Army kill two Boko Haram terrorists in Northeast Nigeria

Abuja, Nigeria, October 31 (Infosplusgabon) - The Nigerian Army said on Tuesday its troops have killed two Boko Haram terrorists in Gambo Yukke, Gubio, Northeast Nigeria.

 

Deputy Director Public Relations, 8 Task Force Division of the Nigerian Army operating in Nigeria’s Northeast, Col. Timothy Antigha, said in a statement that the two terrorists were killed while they were trying to outflank the troops.

 

According to the statement, “Boko Haram terrorists fleeing from the ongoing clearance operation in one of their hideouts in Gambo Yukku forest have been killed by troops of 5 Brigade Garrison, Gubio, Borno State.

 

The troops were on routine patrol in Aisaram village, Gubio Local Government Area, as part of the clearance operations, when at about 6:20am this morning, 2 Boko Haram terrorists riding horses attempted to outflank them, but were spotted by vigilant troops and shot during the fire fight.

 

“Items recovered from the dead terrorists include an AK 47 riffle, a magazine with a single round of 7.62 millimetres ammunition and 2 machetes. Other items recovered include 2 mobile phones, 2 horses and 7,000 Naira cash. No soldier sustained any injury or was lost during the operation,” it said.
