Mild earthquake hits Tunisia

Tunis, Tunisia, October 31 (Infosplusgabon) - The Tunisian National Institute of Meteorology announced on Tuesday that a telluric quake measuring 4.2 on the Richter scale, hit the country off the governorate from Nabeul, 75km south-east of Tunis.

Tunisia is part of the natural and non-dangerous areas in relation to the degree of earthquakes, ranging between low and medium and causing no damage.

Tunisia is located on the north shore of the African plateau, very close to the Euro-Mediterranean plateau, where there are between 30 and 50 earthquakes per year.

The earthquake service of the Tunisian National Institute of Weather states that this average is stable in Tunisia.
