Khartoum, Sudan, October 31 (Infosplusgabon) - The ministers of defence of Sudanese and South Sudan on Monday said they are looking forward to building stable and strong relations between Juba and Khartoum.

The Defence Minister for Sudan, Lt. Gen. Awad Mohamed Ahmed Ibin Aouf, held a round of talks with his South Sudanese counterpart, Gen Kual Maniang Deng, in preparation for the coming visit of the South Sudan President Gen Salva Kiir Mayadrit to Khartoum on Wednesday.

Gen Ibin Aouf said their talks “focused on how to take practical steps in the implementation of agreements signed by the two countries” in 2013. He said the two sides also reached accords on how to revitalise the joint committees that are to implement these agreements.

Gen Aouf said the talks also underlined the keenness of the armed forces in the two countries “to place the relationship between the two countries in their right context and to open the doors wide for creating an integrational relation” that reflects positively on the people along the joint borders.

The South Sudan Defence Minister said President Salva Kiir's visit is at the invitation of Sudanese President Omar Bashir, expressing hope that it would reach positive results to boost bilateral relations.
