Kolkata, India, October 28 (Infosplusgabon) -  Five-Star England lifted the 2017 FIFA U-17 World Cup for the first time ever when they came from behind to beat Spain 5-2 in the final match of the tournament played at the Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan, Kolkata, India, on Saturday.

The Spaniards raced into a 2-0 lead just after the half-hour through Sergio Gomes's brace in the 10th and 31st minutes.

The English reduced the deficit in the 44th minute through striker Rhian Brewster, who had scored hat-tricks in their two last matches against USA in the quarter-finals and Brazil in the semi-finals.

A rejuvenated English side transformed the game in their favour in the second half when they scored four more times leaving the jaded Spaniards wondering what had happened to them.

Morgan Gibbs levelled the scores in the 58th minute before Philip Foden scored the first of his brace in the 69th minute to put England ahead 3-2.

Marc Guehi made it 4-2 in the 84th minute and Foden's second for the night in the 88th minute put the cherry on the icing to crown a great comeback for England.

In the match for third place, Brazil beat Mali 2-0, with two second half goals from Alan in the 55th minute and Yuri Alberto in the 88th minute.
