Gaborone, Botswana, October 27 (Infosplusgabon)- Stanbic Bank Botswana and international Seedstars World have embarked on a campaign to unveil Botswana’s best entreprenuers.

Through the Seedstars World’s global seed-stage startup competition for emerging markets and fast-growing startup scenes, the pair has invited best startups to pitch their businesses.

“With this opportunity come exposure for these startups, and thus greater potential to grow and thrive,” said Stanbic Bank Botswana Head of Enterprise Banking, Onkabetse Morapedi.

Morapedi on Friday said the platform recognises great opportunity in local startups.

Seedstars World is travelling to more than 75 countries this year to identify the best seed-stage entrepreneurs.

The organisation will provide these startups with an opportunity to win up to US$ 500,000 in equity investments, networking with investors and mentors from across the globe.

“We are approaching the end of our 2017 tour and we are very impressed by what we have seen on the continent so far.

“The startups we met are solving issues that impact millions of people, and we are happy to play a role in their development by giving them the proper resources, visibility, and access to funding,” said Anis Kallel, Associate for Africa at Seedstars World.

Previous Seedstars participants have raised over US$ 61 million and provided employment to more than 1,000 people worldwide, demonstrating the true impact of the platform and its reach.
