Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, October 27 (Infosplusgabon) - Tahirou Barry, the Minister of Culture, Arts and Tourism in Burkina Faso, resigned Thursday from the government, "for personal reasons", Infosplusgabon learned from his entourage and himself.

"I made the decision to resign from my position as Minister of Culture, Arts and Tourism starting October 26, 2017, after 22 months on the job," Barry wrote in a press statement.

"I'm tired of seeing millions of brave young people, unemployed and desperate, with a bleak future," he wrote.

He also decried the current economic situation in the country, blaming the situation on the lack of imagination on the part of the ruling elite.

Barry criticized the security situation in the country where "our armed forces are hopelessly disarmed in the face of an army of terrorists."

A presidential candidate in 2015, with his political party, the Parti pour la renaissance nationale (Paren), Mr. Barry had been called into the government.

But last August, he was suspended from his party at a general meeting.
