Casablanca, Morocco, October 22 (Infosplusgabon) -  Wydad Casablanca of Morocco reached the final of the 2017 CAF Champions League on Saturday night when they beat USM Alger of Algeria 3-1 in their second leg semi-final match played at the Stade Mohammed V in Casablanca.

The first leg match played in the Algerian capital, Algiers, ended in a barren draw.

Wydad went ahead in the 26th minute through Walid El Karti to calm the nerves of the hosts.

Achraf Bencharki then doubled the lead in the 54th minute but Ayoub Abdellaoui pulled one back for the visitors in the 68th minute for a tense finish as the Algerians piled on pressure with a numerical advantage following the marching orders given Wydad's Amine Atouchi in the 55th for a second yellow card.

The Moroccans, however, held on and in the 90th minute Bencharki put the icing on the cake with his second on the night.

Wydad will meet the winner of the second semi-final second leg match to be played on Sunday night in Egypt between Al Ahly of Egypt and Etoile du Sahel of Tunisia. The first-leg match was won by the Tunisian club 2-1.
