Air Mauritius receives its first A350-900 plane

Plaisance, Mauritius, October 21 (Infosplusgabon) - Air Mauritius on Friday took delivery of the first of six A350-900 planes ordered from Airbus aircraft manufacturer as part of its expansion strategy and fleet renewal.

 

In a communique, Air Mauritius said that the new aircraft, named 'Le Morne Brabant' is the first to be delivered on a total of six jumbo jet engines ordered by the airline.

 

The company will operate these aircraft on its expanding network linking Mauritius to various destinations in Asia, Africa and Europe.

 

According to the press release, the new A350-900 boasts the latest cabin layout, including new seats, an innovative in-flight entertainment system, an in-flight connectivity system that will provide passengers with a level of comfort and service unmatched.

 

Prime Minister Pravind Jugnauth of Mauritius, who was at the airport to welcome the new aircraft, said the arrival of the plane "will enable the country to meet the challenges and help us to achieve economic growth."

 

A second aircraft is expected at the end of November 2017. Currently, the airline has two A330-200s and six A340-300s, as well as two A319s and three ATR 72-500s.
