Tunis, Tunisia, October  20 (Infosplusgabon) - The head of the economic division of Agence Française de Développement (AFD), the French Dvelopment Agency, Gael Giraud, has said that the organisation would strengthen its cooperation with Tunisia in the domain of renewable energy sources and transition.

In a declaration made public on Thursday on a local radio, Mr Giraud added that AFD would collaborate with Tunisia on integration of the economy, climate and environmental change and support to companies for them to enter African markets, regarded as the most important current markets.

The French official, at the end of talks on Wednesday in Tunis with the Tunisian minister of Development, Investment and International cooperation, Zied Ladhari, had said that AFD wanted to establish a strategic partnership framework with Tunisia that took into consideration its future priorities and coherent with their vision for development.

French Prime Minister Manuel Valls announced recently that France had released one billion euros as financial aid to Tunisia covering four years (2017-2020) through AFD.
