Freetown, Sierra Leone, October 19 (Infosplusgabon) -  Sierra Leone's Office of National Security (ONS) intends to close down camps of the 14 August mudslide victims by15 November this year, Director of Planning and Inter agency Coordination, Francis Langumba Keilie told  Infosplusgabon  on Thursday.

"We are trying to wrap up activities in the camps, so we would shut it down by 15 November," he said.

The announcement, however, comes as a disappointment to thousands of families who were affected by the disaster and are yet to be relocated.

ONS said a package of US$ 300 would be provided for each family to find a place to live. Victims have complained in the past about unfulfilled promises from authorities.

On Tuesday, a group of aggrieved mudslide victims led a protest to the Presidential lodge, demanding better conditions in the camps.

The government is currently supporting four camps, with more than 4,000 people in these camps yet to be resettled.
