Burkina Faso President Kabore to launch electrification project for 189 localities

Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, October 19 (Infosplusgabon) -  The President of Burkina Faso, Roch Marc Christian Kabore, will on Saturday launch an electrification project for 189 localities in the Northern region that will give 22,000 households access to electricity, according to a statement issued on Thursday at the end of a meeting the Council of Ministers.

Under Burkina Faso's framework of rural electrification, the West African country has benefitted from World Bank support of about US$50 million.

Burkina Faso faces a huge deficit in energy delivery with a coverage rate in electricity of only 19 per cent.
