Pretoria condemns Mogadishu bomb blast

Cape Town, South Africa, October 16 (Infosplusgabon) -  South Africa's Department of International Relations and Co-operation (Dirco) said on Monday that no South Africans were among the more than 300 people killed in a terror attack on the Somali capital Mogadishu on Saturday.

More than 300 others were wounded and the death toll is expected to rise in the attack described as the single deadliest attack ever in the east African nation.

Department spokesman Clayson Monyela said Pretoria strongly condemns the attack.

The official opposition Democratic Alliance (DA) said it stands with the people of Somalia during this difficult time and condemns, in the strongest terms, this senseless act of terrorism.

“We hope that there will be justice for all those who lost their lives and we wish a speedy recovery for those who were injured in this tragedy,” said DA MP Stevens Mokgalapa.
