New Delhi, India, October 13 (Infosplusgabon) - Ghana on Thursday bombed hosts India 4-0 to win Group A and a place in the round of 16 (second round) at the ongoing 2017 Under-17 FIFA World Cup.
With goals from Eric Ayiah (in the 43rd and 52nd minutes), Richard Danso in the 86th minute and Emmanuel Toku a minute later, the Ghanaians, two time winners of the world cup (1991 and 1995), emerged winner of Group A with 6 points, ahead of second-placed Colombia (also with 6 points) and the United State of America which also grabbed 6 points.
All three teams - Ghana, Colombia and the United States - have qualified for the second round (Ghana as group winners, Colombia as second-placed team and the United States as one of the best group third-placed teams.
Ghana won the group with a plus 4 goal difference, having scored five goals and conceded only one.
The Black Starlets join Mali, the first African team to go through, in that round.
Conversely, Guinea was eliminated on Friday from the competition after losing 1-3 to Germany in Group C.
