Mali: Regional conference on security in West Africa to open Thursday in Bamako

Bamako, Mali, October 11 (Infosplusgabon) -  A regional conference, devoted to the security situation in West Africa and the Sahelian region, opens on Thursday in Bamako, official sources told Infosplusgabon.

On Tuesday, an information meeting was held with representatives from different Malian ministerial departments in charge of the interdisciplinary security issue, the ministries of foreign affairs and International cooperation, Defence, Security, Malians living abroad, religious leaders, as well as experts from the economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), according to the sources.

According to the official programme, Thursday's conference will open with a meeting of experts, followed by a ministerial meeting which outcomes will be submitted to the heads of State of the sub-regional organisation.
