2017 FIFA U-17 WC: Mali bounce back, Ghana slump

Mavi Mumbai, India, October 9 (Infosplusgabon) - Mali bounced back from its Day 1 defeat to Paraguay in the 2017 FIFA Under-17 World Cup tournament in India with a comprehensive 3-0 drubbing of Turkey in their Group B, Day 2 match in Navi Mumbai on Monday while Ghana slumped 0-1 to USA.

 

 

Djemoussa Traore found the net for Mali in the 38th minute before the West Africans scored two more in the second half through Lassana N'diaye (68th) and Fode Konate (86th).

 

Mali have three points and are currently at the top of the table, while they wait for the second match in the group between Paraguay and New Zealand.

 

Mali lost 2-3 to Paraguay in the first match while New Zealand and Turkey played out a 1-1 draw.

 

In New Delhi, USA beat Ghana 1-0 in their Group A, Day 2 match with Ayo Akinola's 75th minute settling the duel.

 

USA have 6 points from 2 matches, Ghana have 3 points, Colombia and India, who play their Day 2 match later in the day, have no point. USA beat India 3-0 in their first match while Ghana overcame Colombia 1-0.
