Nairobi, Kenya, October  9 (Infosplusgabon) - Unidentified gunmen shot and wounded a man before ramming through a crowd of demonstrators in Nairobi on Monday, leaving  at least two with broken limbs, opposition party leaders said.

The National Super Alliance  (NASA) Presidential candidate, Raila Odinga, said the ruling Jubilee Alliance Party was responsible for the attack on its demonstrators.

At least five people were injured when the gunmen shot at one of the demonstrators before driving at speed into the crowd of demonstrators in Nairobi on Monday, opposition lawmaker Gladys Wanga said.

The demonstrators, chanting “no reform, no election”, marched on the streets of the capital to voice opposition to the 26 October elections without key reforms.

Odinga said his alliance condemned the acts of violence which led to the wounding of the opposition supporters demonstrating for electoral reforms.

President Uhuru Kenyatta said the opposition leader should make up his mind on whether he would participate in the elections or not.

President Kenyatta said at least US$ 120 million has been deployed towards the preparations for the repeat elections.

There were serious demonstrations in the western city of Kisumu, where Police used teargas and excessive force to disperse demonstrators.

In the towns of Migori, hundreds of demonstrators poured into the streets to press for reforms before the elections.

Odinga said he would not participate in an election which has been pre-rigged even if a court order was issued asking him to do so.

“We have freedom of choice and a democratic right not to participate in a pre-rigged election,” Odinga said.

Odinga spoke after meeting leaders from Kajiado on the outskirts of Nairobi, where he responded to the increased number of opposition leaders decamping to the ruling Jubilee Alliance Party.

President Kenyatta, who is in the coastal region, has received former Governors of Taita Taveta and a former gubernatorial candidate Omar Hassan, a former Secretary General of Wiper Party, one of the main NASA affiliate parties.

Meanwhile, a lone protestor, took to the streets in Trans Nzoia, to demonstrate against the top election officials, according to the Kenyan Television Network.

“I have done my peaceful protest to be heard and in order not to be misconstrued to be inciting violence that is why I am doing it alone,” said the lone demonstrator, who was identified as Mr Baraza.
