Imprimer PDF

FREETOWN,  Sierra Leone,  October 4 (Infosplusgabon) - Sierra Leonean police on Wednesday released Nigerian evangelist Victor Ajesafe who has been under protective custody for a week at the Central Investigations Department in Freetown.

Pastor Ajesafe was arrested last week for making hate speech against Muslims and Islam in Sierra Leone. His release comes 24 hours after he made a formal apology to all Muslims for his sermon.

Despite his release from custody, his travel documents are still with the police. His Sanctuary Praise churches across the country are still closed. Police sources said the Attorney General was studying the case and would decide whether to prosecute him or not.
