Ethiopia: AUC Chairperson extends his condolences following Las Vegas Attack

ADDIS ABEBA, Ethiopia, October 4 (Infosplusgabon)  -  The Chairperson of the African Union Commission, Moussa Faki Mahamat, has extended his most sincere condolences to the families of those who died in the mass shooting tragedy on Sunday in Las Vegas, Nevada, US.

 

“This appalling attack which led to a senseless loss of lives reminds us of the shared challenge of reducing violent crime in our communities around the globe,” said Faki Mahamat.

 

The Chairperson also extended his wishes of quick recovery to those who sustained injuries.

 

At least 59 people were killed and 527 injured in the attack when a gunman opened fire on a music festival crowd from the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino, in what is now the deadliest shooting in modern U.S. history.

 

The death toll from the incident could possibly go up, said Clark County Coroner, John Fudenberg, in a press conference Monday afternoon.
