Gabon: China's floating hospital ship offers medical care to Gabonese people

LIBREVILLE,  Gabon , October 2 (Infosplusgabon) -  The Chinese floating hospital ship, "the Arch of Peace", with a crew of  more than 600 doctors and nurses, Monday began consultations and free treatments to approximately 2,000 patients enrolled in local hospital facilities in Libreville, the Gabone capital.

Infosplusgabon learned from health sources that the hospital ship, which berthed last week at the port of Owendo, not far from the Gabonese capital, came from Djibouti and will offer various medical care in dermatology, pediatrics, stomatology, ophthalmology, gynecology, specialized surgery and  traditional Chinese medicine over five days.

According to a statement from the Department of Health, the free health care offer is in the framework of the strengthening of the bilateral cooperation between Gabon and China.

After Gabon, the Chinese medical ship will visit Sierra Leone and Tanzania.

Between 2010 and 2015, the Chinese ship covered 29 countries and regions in Asia, Africa and Oceania.
