TRIPOLI, Libya, October 1 (Infosplusgabon)  - Libya on Saturday repatriated 11 illegal migrants to Algeria as part of the Libyan authorities' new policy to close migrants' reception centres, the Libyan Authority for the fight against illegal immigration announced on Sunday.

As part of the voluntary return of migrants residing in Tripoli's reception centres, the 11 Algerians were repatriated via Maitigua International Airport in Tunis.

A statement said that the repatriation is being undertaken in conjunction with the International Organization for Migration (OIM).

The Libyan authorities earlier deported 94 illegal immigrants of Moroccan nationality.

The International community has repeatedly denounced the poor conditions at the detention centres in Libya where illegal migrants are subjected to torture.

Some 97,400 migrants have left their countries for Italy via Libya since the beginning of this year, according to the Authority for the fight against illegal immigration in Tripoli.
