2017 WAFU: Ghana pocket US$100,000 plus Cup

ACCRA,  Ghana, September 25 (Infosplusgabon) -  Ghana earned US$100,000 for smashing Nigeria and winning their second Cup in WAFU history.

At the finals of the 2017 edition of the competition, hosts Ghana blasted Nigeria, the 2010 winners, 4-1 and took home the winners' purse of US$100,000.

Nigeria earned US$50,000 for placing second while third-place finishers Niger earned US$25,000. Benin won US$10,000 as fourth-place winners. Niger beat Benin 2-1 in the match for third place.

Other payments were -

Four losing semi-finalists - US$10,000.

Four second-round finishers - US$5,000.
