2017 CAF Conf. Cup: SuperSport Utd draw 2-2 with ZESCO to reach semi-final

NDOLA, Zambia, Sepember 23 (Infosplusgabon) - SuperSport United of South Africa struck very late in their second-leg quarter-final 2017 CAF Confederation Cup match against ZESCO of Zambia in Ndola to snatch a 2-2 draw and a ticket to the semi-final of the competition.

J. Ching'andu put ZESCO ahead just after kickoff but the South African club equalised in the 31st minute from T. Phala.

D. Owino restored ZESCO's lead after 50 minutes and they were cruising into the semi-final until Phala stunned them in the final minute of time added on to level the match 2-2.

SuperSport Utd. went through on the away goal rule, having drawn the first leg match 0-0 in South Africa.

Former champions, FUS Rabat of Morocco, on Friday reached the semi-final of the competition, knocking out CS Sfaxien of Tunisia in the quarter-finals.

The other quarter final matches this weekend are:

TP Mazembe, DR Congo vs Al-Hilal Al-Ubayyid, Sudan (2-1) - 24 Sept.

Club Africain, Tunisia vs MC Alger, Algeria (0-1) - 24 Sept.
