FREETOWN,  Sierra Leone, September 22 (Infosplusgabon) -  Five months ahead of the 2018 general elections, Attorney General Joseph Fitzgeral Kamara (JFK) becomes the latest man to announce his presidential aspiration on behalf of the ruling All Peoples Congress.

He made the announcement in a packed hall on Thursday evening at the APC Headquarters in Freetown

He becomes the most high profiled government minister to officially announce his bid for the presidency.

During the ceremony, JFK said “We have brought free education, we want to continue that. We want to build more universities", re-echoing what the government has done, and vowing to continue with them.

JFK is a lawyer with 25 years of experience. He was the former boss of the Anti-Corruption Commission, before then he was the Deputy Prosecutor at the now defunct Special Courts in Sierra Leone.

The ruling APC party is set to conduct its delegate conference next month, during which the party would either select or elect an aspirant to lead the party to the 2018 polls.

Already, more than 8 candidates have announced their bids and the race is becoming increasingly close. APC has been in governance in Sierra Leone since 2007.
