Suspected dangerous terrorist arrested in Sousse, Tunisia

Tunis, Tunisia, November 22 (Infosplusgabon) - Tunisian security units arrested early Saturday in Sousse, 140 km south of the capital, a wanted takfiri element described as "dangerous", who had been sentenced to eight years in prison for belonging to a suspected terrorist organization, security sources told Infosplusgabon.

City security officials said they were taking the necessary regulatory measures regarding the arrested person, the same source said.

Tunisian Interior Minister Taoufik Charefeddine said last Monday that security forces, supported by the army, had since the start of the year, arrested 1,020 people suspected of being terrorists in operations against terrorism.

These people could be members of terrorist organizations, said Charefeddine, indicating that 33 takfiri cells were dismantled as part of the same operations.
