Nouakchott, Mauritania, October 31 (Infosplusgabon) - The press published in Mauritania this week devoted most of its comments to the global crisis emanating from cartoons in France of the Prophet of Islam, Mohamed (PSL).

Paris authorities approved of the cartoons in the name of freedom of expression but this aroused deep indignation in the Muslim world.

Faced with the torrent of condemnations in the OUMMAH, “Sahara Médias” reports the soothing words of the head of French diplomacy, Jean Yves Le Drian, contained in a message of peace addressed to the Muslim world.

“Muslim religion and culture are part of the history of France and Europe. We must not confine ourselves to the actions of a minority of manipulators."

The same organ also relays a statement from the Caliph General of TIJANIA in Senegal, Serigne Ababacar Mansour Sy, made on the occasion of the night of MAWLID, celebrating the birth of the Prophet of Islam, accusing "France of having offended the Muslim world”.

In the same vein, "ESSAHRAA" delivers the report "of a monster demonstration to defend the Prophet of Islam, Mohamed (PSL)" organized in Nouakchott, Friday afternoon.

It was attended by "thousands of Mauritanians from all social strata and political persuasions, who demanded the boycott of French products”.

“Le Calame", for its part, speaks of the declaration of the Mauritanian government which qualifies "as a barbaric act the terrorist attack against the church", Notre Dame de Nice.

This occurred on the day of the birth of the Prophet Mohamed (PSL) , who brought the meanings of mercy, the principles of forgiveness and the establishment of peace ”in its immediate, distant environment, and in all humanity”.
