Coronavirus: Togo records 9 new cases of infection, 12 recoveries

Lomé, Togo, October 4  (Infosplusgabon) - Togo Friday recorded nine new coronavirus (COVID-19) infections, a statement issued by the ministry of Health and Public Hygiene.

The nine new infections take to 1,818 the number of overall cases in Togo since March, date of the detection of the first case of coronavirus.

However, the ministry reported 12 new cases of recoveries, or a total of 1,365 recovered patients.

The number of deaths still remains at 48 while that of patients still under treatment stands at 405.

Over these few weeks, Togo has been recording an increase in cases following the discovery of COVID-19 epicenters due to the organisation of traditional feasts, naming ceremonies and other activities banned by the government.
