Cotonou, Benin, September 18 (Infosplusgabon) – Mr Carlos Adohouannon, ex-director of the Tax General Management, who is wanted for one year for the disappearance of four billion CFAF from the government coffers, will soon be repatriated by Senegal, official sources said on Friday in Cotonou.

The wanted director was arrested by Senegalese justice at the international Blaise Diagne Airport of Dakar on Friday following international arrest warrant issued by the Beniense authorities.

He was presented on Monday to the Prosector and detained at the prison of Cape Manual while waiting for extradition to Benin.

The ex-director of Taxes is wanted by Benin since 20 September 2019 following a report of the disappearance of four billion CFAF in his department.

While being sought, his vehicle without a number plate was found at the domicile of one of his staff and several of his co-workers had been arrested by the Economic and Financial Brigade (BEF).

After his extradition to Benin, Mr Adohouannon will be presented to the Repressive Court of Economic crimes (Criet).
