Burkinabe gendarme killed in centre-north

Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso,  September 14  (Infosplusgabon) – A Burkinabe gendarme was killed on Saturday morning in the rural community of Pensa, in centre-north Burkina Faso, security sources have said.

"As part of a security operation in the commune of Pensa, in the centre-north, a gendarmerie team fell into an ambush laid by gunmen on Saturday, leaving one dead among the gendarmes," security sources said.

The attack comes a day after another one that claimed the lives for four soldiers in the Burkinabe Sahel region.

Last Friday, a woman and a child were killed in the explosion of a landmine in the locality of Titao in north of the country.

Since April 2015, Burkina Faso has been facing terrorist attacks which have claimed the lives of many people and displaced thousands.
