Coronavirus: Tunisia records 376 new confirmed cases

Tunis, Tunisia, September 14 (Infosplusgabon) – Tunisia has recorded 376 new confirmed cases of coronavirus (COVID-19), taking to 6,635 the total number of infections detected in the country since the beginning of the pandemic, the Tunisian ministry of Health said on Saturday.

Since the opening of air and maritime borders on 27 June, Tunisia has recorded 5,434 confirmed cases of the virus, including 595 imported cases. It has also recorded 57 deaths.

Meanwhile, a 53-year-old doctor died on Saturday from the disease, according to the union of doctors and pharmacists.

The medical community has deplored the situation in hospitals, which lack staff, drugs and protection equipment against the deadly virus.

It has also complained about lack of beds in hospitals which are full, causing the increase in contamination in hospitals.
