Cotonou, Benin, September 14 (Infosplusgabon) – Benin is to set up a committee to carry out a preliminary examination and study of its international conventions and agreements to verify their compatibility with national development goals and promotion of the country at the international level, an official statement said on Thursday.
The committee will be established under the authority of the ministry of Justice and Legislation, which will see to the successful functioning and particularly update a database of international conventions and agreements already ratified by Benin, so as to make objective assessment.
According to the Council of Ministers meeting, which decided to set up the committee, "the ratification of the international conventions and deals requires relevant upstream assessment to ensure their consistency with the internal judicial system".
