N'Djamena, Chad, September 8 (Infosplusgabon) - The Community of Sahel-Saharan States (CEN-SAD) said on Monday that it is following with "particular attention and great satisfaction" the inter-Libyan talks that started last Sunday in the Moroccon town of Bouznika.

It expressed its full support for the peace process and called on the international community to strongly support it.

The talks between the two rival administrations -- the Tripoli-based High Council of State and the Parliament in Tubrouk -- are seen as part of the continuation of the Skhirat Political Agreement struck in that Moroccan city on 15 December 2015.

In a statement, CEN-SAD welcomed the encouragement to constructive dialogue of King Mohammed VI of Morocco, who, it said, has created the conditions for the restoration and consolidation of peace and national harmony through fraternal dialogue.

It also welcomed the "personal and institutional involvement" of Mr. Nasser Bourita, Moroccan Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans living abroad, in the search for a negotiated solution to the Libyan crisis.

CEN-SAD commended the Libyan parties engaged in the process for their firm will and determination to bring their country out of the crisis and urged them to implement the conclusions of the Berlin Conference.

It urged the Libyan parties to make these talks a historic event and called on Libyan political and community leaders to support the Bouznika discussions and encourage the negotiators to make patriotic compromises in order to consolidate the ceasefire, preserve unity and national harmony to create the conditions for free and inclusive elections.

The Community also welcomed the commitment and initiatives of King Mohammed VI for the promotion of peace in the Sahel-Saharan area.
